361 new cholera cases in 3 states and over 45,000 families affected in 11 states.

The Federal Emergency Operations Center held its meeting scheduled for today, Tuesday, in the emergency room of the Public Health Laboratory in the city of Kassala, reviewing reports from the ministry's departments, in addition to reports from the states of Jazira and Sennar. *.

*Yesterday Monday's cholera epidemiological situation report revealed that (361) new infections were recorded in 3 states out of 44 localities, including (7) deaths, Kassala (152) cases and (3) deaths, and Nile (101). 3) Deaths, Gedaref (108) cases and (1) death, bringing the cumulative number of infections in 8 states to (6618) cases, including (235) deaths.*

*The cholera response activities and interventions report refers to a number of federal level interventions including daily monitoring of treatment centres in affected states and reported daily, allocation of Kassala State, as well as training (256) on treatment standards, while the environmental health and food control report noted the availability of chlorine and its current need, highlighting problems and proposed solutions*.

*The fall report indicated that over (54) thousand families were affected by the separation of (11) states, including (54) local, while the supply report indicated that safe states were supplied with intravenous solutions, serums and antibiotics, and added that there is a supply of organizations in a number of states.*

*The meeting aimed to intensify interventions to combat cholera in the affected states, especially Kassala and Sennar, while providing supplies and sensitizing, stressing that the responsibility is collective to address the situation, as well as ensuring the formation of a common room between Kassala and the Federal Government, organizations and community initiatives with the aim of coordinating the fight efforts, and stressed the participation of organizations providing cholera supplies so that the ministry can determine the needs of each state, in addition to developing a national preparedness plan for haemorrhage fevers, including all axes.*
