President of the Sovereignty Council pays tribute to Christian Christmas celebrations
Today, Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, participated with Christians in their Christmas celebrations at the Catholic Church in Port -Sudan, amidst a great popular welcome. In the presence of the Governor of the Red Sea and numerous executives and members of the Christian clergy.
In his speech, Lieutenant General Al-Burhan expressed his joy at participating in these celebrations on the occasion of the birthday of Jesus Christ, peace be upon him. He said: “We ask God that this anniversary passes and that our country enjoys the peace whose banner was carried by Jesus Christ,” indicating that the Sudanese do not deserve the injustice and tragedies that befall them.
He expressed his hope that this anniversary will take place next year and that Sudan will experience peace and stability.
His Excellency congratulated the leaders of the ancient Catholic Church, who contributed to achieving Sudan's independence and supporting the Sudanese state.
Calling for the need to adhere to the teachings of tolerant heavenly religions which call for love and peace.
