Madani, it wasn't a deal, but rather sweat and blood?! – The face of truth – ✍️ Ibrahim Shaqlawi

Following the progress of the war in Sudan and its regional and international repercussions, the liberation of the town of Wad Madani on January 12, 2025 from the Rapid Support militias remains a major turning point. This military event reflects a decisive change in the course of the Sudanese conflict, as it indicates a shift in the balance of power within the country. The military operation during which the Sudanese army managed to retake the city on several axes, and after complex preparation based on experience and knowledge of the nature of the terrain, was not only the recovery of a strategic area, but rather an indication of the redrawing of the Sudanese military and political scene, and confirmation that Sudan is capable of imposing its sovereignty despite the challenges.

The liberation of Wad Madani expresses the army's capacity to manage the battle, preceded by a complex intelligence operation. This included multiple strategies, such as tactical operations to wear down the enemy, which began by hitting the jamming and communications system, as well as airdrops behind its lines, effectively isolating the militia leaders inside. the city from the outside. But the deeper dimensions of this victory lie in its political and economic implications. Madani Food, being the heart of Sudanese agriculture, means restoring a part of the economy that was threatened, which will result in rebalancing the vital resources and resources of the Sudanese state, especially as the country is about to enter an agricultural campaign which should contribute to improving the production process and the abundance of food.

The Rapid Support Militia, which has relied on rapid attacks, continued terror and violence to achieve its goals, is in a state of collapse. This militia failed to provide a popular support base or even a local incubator, as the so-called local administration it had established in Al-Jazeera State evaporated. The transformations on the ground show that the militia has turned its page. The victory at Wad Madani represents a point of division between the militia's ambitions and its collapse. The spontaneous celebrations that swept through Sudanese towns and other cities outside Sudan carried a clear message: the people support their army to restore security and peace. This represents a strong slap in the face for regional and local supporters who were counting on deception to sow chaos and terrorize civilians, but did not take into account this popular cohesion with the army. Their decision to expand the war outside Khartoum and employ foreign mercenaries was a strategic error that led to their internal and external isolation.

The assertion that the release of Wad Madani was achieved through an agreement is only an attempt to shuffle the cards and spoil popular joy in the face of a true national success achieved through the sweat of the field and the blood of martyrs. The militia's allies within the Coordination of Civilian Forces “Taqaddam” are promoting these allegations to reflect their failure after the failure of their political project, which was based on sustained hegemony at the regional level and planned to establish a government under the pretext of delegitimization. The reality is that the liberation was achieved forcefully and boldly, as talk of a deal only exists in their shameful imaginations and false narratives. These miserable political attempts only seek to sow doubt and weaken dynamic national cohesion. Everyone must therefore understand that these allegations only serve narrow agendas aimed at undermining security and political stability.

The victory of the Sudanese army in the liberation of Wad Madani reflects a strategic development that has regional and international repercussions. At the regional level, this victory raises questions about the positions of neighboring countries which ignored or remained neutral in the face of the Sudanese crisis. Along with those who provided direct support in the form of money, weapons and replacement fighters, they prolonged the war and revealed an attempt to undermine the country's stability and a greed for its resources. These developments indicate that Sudan will not forget the disappointment of some of its neighbors, just as it will not forget the support of its friends.

As for international and regional initiatives aimed at “intermediating” between the Sudanese government and the militias, they lost their effectiveness as the army advanced and won victories. Turkish initiatives, for example, despite their regional influence, are struggling to reposition their positions in light of new data on the ground. The Jeddah Platform, which some international powers aspired to use to impose compromise solutions, does not seem to represent an appropriate solution in light of the new balance of forces, which opens the door to a global revision of the community's positions international response to the war in Sudan.

The role of the media in shaping international public opinion on the war in Sudan, which represents a clear rebellion of a militia against state authority, cannot be overlooked. However, the failure of some media outlets to provide this correct definition has caused serious damage. the definition of the responsibilities of the parties involved in the war. Failure to define the war as a conflict between a state and rebels is deliberate misinformation that has contributed to the confusion and failure of the Sudanese people.

According to what we see in reality, the liberation of Wad Madani confirms that the path to the restoration of security and peace in our country passes through unity and national sovereignty, far from external interference. The fate of Sudan is in the hands of its people and its army, not in the hands of regional or international powers. The future requires independent policy and more mature positions from the world towards Sudan's problems. It is also necessary to reformulate the national media discourse so that it reflects the image of Sudanese reality, far from blackmail and attempts to confuse consciences with a view to the reconstruction phase.

May you always be well.
