Housing and land rents fall in Port Sudan after civil liberation
Port Sudan:
Property rental prices have fallen in Port Sudan, the capital of the Red Sea state, following the civil liberation of the state capital of Gezira.
Real estate sales prices have also fallen to less than half of what was on offer a week ago.
One of the brokers said the next stage will see a further decline in real estate rental prices as well as land sales.
While another said there has recently been a great eagerness among landlords to increase rental prices despite the lack of quality accommodation compared to the prices on offer.
The city of Port Sudan has shown the greed of real estate owners and some brokers, by increasing rent prices irrationally, without taking into account the conditions of the displaced. However, the liberation of Madani, the capital of Gezira. state, was a major turning point, and it is expected that the coming period will be one of liberation of Khartoum and no one will want to rent property in Port Sudan once the voluntary return begins.
