Darfour between tragedy and international duplication of justice which will never come – in depth – ✍️ Hisham Mahmoud Suleiman .. the former secretary general of the Commission of Human Rights

Darfur Returned Again to the Circle of International Attention, this Time through the Gate of the International Criminal Court, where the prosecutor karim khan presented a briefing before the security coucil, in Which he dealt with the exacerbation of the humanitarian conditions in the region, Amid Famine, bloody conflicts and horrible crimes targeting civilians, in particular women and children, but this discourse which reproduces ancient stories raises deep questions on real reasons behind this renewed international interest and the extent of gravity of the international community in justice far from justice of justice to political remoteness selectivity
Darfur is a continuous tragedy and political exploitation: –
No one denies the size of the humanitarian crisis which is ravaged by Darfur, but the moment of renewal of discussions on the International Criminal Court raises doubts about the real objectives behind it since the trigger of the conflict in the region, the Darfur file was present. As a tool for political pressure more than a real problem and today, while Karim Khan talks about crimes, the Commission reveals the positions of the main powers of the Security Council a clear duplication in the application of justice. Japanese, confirmed that the International Criminal Court has no credibility because of its selection, because it targets specific countries while looking at major crimes committed by great powers and this declaration recalls the fundamental question
Why does the court use as a political tool rather than being a real platform to achieve justice for all?
Selectivity in international justice: –
If the real objective of the International Criminal Court is to achieve justice, then why are the accusations limited to certain parts and not to others? Why does Karim Khan focus on the requirement for the delivery of Omar Al -Bashir and some former Sudanese officials while the gram of armed support quickly supported by the external parties is ignored? And why did the court not move the same force to hold the officials of the atrocities committed in Iraq and Afghanistan or to the crimes of the Israeli war against civilians in Gaza? This behavior clearly reveals that international justice is only a tool used to serve political agendas
It is not a question of achieving equity towards the victims of conflicts, because the court which speaks today of the Darfur has not moved a finger when the war crimes took place in Syria or in Yemen and N 'have not owned the main countries that have used excessive force against civilians in different regions of Le Monde.
The duplication of the international community: –
Double standards has always been one of the fundamental characteristics of the international regime, while leaders of African countries or the Middle East are tried before the International Criminal Court, the main powers remain sheltered from all responsibility, for example, Despite clear evidence of the United States, states committing war crimes in Iraq and Afghanistan, none of its officials to be tried.
This contrast in the treatment of various cases strengthens doubts about the grounds of the criminal courts and explains the reason for the loss of credibility among many, especially in the world in development. What is happening in Darfur is no exception, but an extension of an international approach that puts justice at the service of political interests
Where are things going? : –
In the light of this reality, it seems that the wave to deliver new stops of stopping in Darfur is only part of a political tactic used if necessary to impose some pressure. which deal with the roots of the crisis instead of using the International Criminal Court as a means of political pressure
The solution does not reside in selective legal proceedings, but rather on the real causes of the conflict, including political and economic marginalization, the lack of development and ethnic conflicts which are exploited to achieve political gains, without radically resolving these Problems, the Darfour will remain an open arena for the conflict and the international criminal court will remain a tool used according to the interests of major power
In conclusion, I say that justice will never come
Darfur today is not only an arena of an internal conflict, but has rather become an area of international interests and unless the selective approach and political exploitation change, talking about justice will only remain 'A hollow shame that increases if necessary and falls when interest contradict
If the international community is serious to achieve peace, it must seek a complete and just solution so as not to continue to use the suffering of the Sudanese people as a card in the game of international policy
