The United Arab Emirates and its interference in Sudan – an attempt to impose an external program – something for the fatherland – ✍️ Mr. Salah Ghariba

In the light of current regional and international developments, we are witnessing an escalation in movements targeting the security and stability of Sudan. In a surprising and disturbing stage, the United Arab Emirates announced its intention to hold a special conference on the situation in Sudan, scheduled for February 14, 2025 on the sidelines of the African Union summit.

This conference, which was called by water with the participation of international and regional organizations such as the United Nations, the African Union and Ethiopia, raises serious questions about its objectives and its consequences. At a time when Sudan was assisted by a complex internal conflict, this Emirati intervention is added to the list of challenges faced by this fraternal country.

The calendar of this conference, which coincides with the meeting of the African Peace and Security Council, is an open attempt to play on the regional political scene and the manufacture of discussions far from the real interest of Sudan. The insistence of water on the participation of the Secretary General of the United Nations and the Ethiopian Prime Minister of this conference reflects a clear desire to impose its political program in Sudan.

We confirm our complete rejection of initiatives or meetings held without involving Sudan to discuss his internal affairs. Sudan, as a sovereign country, is the right to decide on its fate and its political future. The interference of the United Arab Emirates in Sudanese affairs, and ignoring the Sudanese popular will, is an explicit violation of the sovereignty of Sudan and a violation of the basic principles on which the African Union is based.

We call on the United Arab Emirates to review its positions and policies towards Sudan and to stop any intervention that would complicate the situation in this country. We also call on the African Union to assume its responsibilities in the protection of the sovereignty of Sudan and its territorial integrity, and to fight against any attempt to impose external programs on this member country.

Sudan goes through a critical stage of its history and its inhabitants are faced with many challenges. During this difficult period, the international community must stand in Sudan and its people, and support its efforts in the realization of peace, stability and development.

We are convinced that the Sudanese people, with their conscience and their solid will, are able to overcome this ordeal and to get out more powerful and lonely. Sudan is an ancient country with its history and its civilization, and its people will not accept that a guardianship of a party be imposed on it.
