With the heart of a believer in the destiny and fate of God, Tuesday, May 20, 2025, Sudan fareweed to a great national and spiritual stature, the sheikh of the priests of Sudan, Dr Al -qums, Felchwi Faraj. The priest of the Church of the two martyrs, who has long lit the paths of knowledge and faith, left a rich heritage of science, service and donations, which lasted more than six decades.

Samir Faraj was born on May 4, 1942. From an early age, he showed genius and an interest in the level of education. He joined the Faculty of Theology of the Coptic Orthodox Church in Cairo in 1959, and graduated in 1963 with distinction, winning first place among graduates. He was not satisfied with this, but was appointed supervisor of the village service for the students of the seminar, in a clear indication of his dedication and his passion to disseminate science and service.

His educational career moved to Sudan, where he started his service in Sudan’s churches on December 15, 1964. At the same time, he joined the Faculty of Arts at the University of Cairo, Khartoum Branch, Department of Social Studies, and graduated in 1969, to do so. This impressive success prompted him to register for third cycle studies between 1969 and 1970, the first time in Sudan at the University of Cairo, a branch of Khartoum, and he was the only one to pass the exam successfully, to put the foundations of a unique university march.

His scientific journey was crowned by obtaining a doctorate from the University of Juba in 2009, on the subject of “good angels in Christianity and Islam”, which reflects its interest in religious dialogue and the promotion of joint understanding.

The contributions of Dr. Foms Feldis Faraj were not limited to the spiritual and academic side, but rather extended to societal and political work. In 1990, he was elected head of the Khartoum district, West, in an electoral battle that challenged the circumstances, and ended with his overwhelming victory.

Sudan was represented in numerous international conferences, including the conference of the population, the conference of dialogues at the Church Council of the Middle East in Beirut and Cyprus, the Drug Control Conference, the Parliament of Religions in South Africa, the Conference of Dialogues in California, Kenya, Jordan, Iran and South Korea. He was the first president of the first association of religious dialogue in Sudan, which confirms his pioneering role in improving the values ​​of coexistence and tolerance.

He was also president of the Bible Association in Sudan, and he was chosen as a peace ambassador by the Federation of World Peace, and the demarcation document was received from the First Lady and his father Babiker, in an international recognition of his active role in the construction of peace.

Dr. Al -Qums Filotias Faraj was a professor in several eminent Sudanese universities, notably grandchildren, the University of the Nile, Juba University, the Nile Theological College and the University of Medical and Technological Sciences, which reflects its great impact on young generations.

In addition, he was a member of many important advisory councils, such as the Advisory Council of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Culture, the General Secretariat of Khartoum, the Capital of Culture, the Minister of Tourism and the Minister of Education. These memberships reflect the confidence of the State and society in its wisdom and its perceptive vision.

Dr. Foms Filothy Faraj has started writing in daily newspapers since 1965, and has many press columns that have influenced the Sudanese cultural and media scene, such as “Hadith Sunday” in the newspaper Al -Freedom Grace, “Call of Love” in Al -Ayyam Newspaper and “Spiritual Idea” “Sudanese”, in Sudanese newspaper, “Sudan Zaman”, in paper in Sudan “Sudanese theses” in another newspaper. And “economic dreams” in the newspaper Elaf, “Hadith Saturday” in the newspaper Al -Ahram and “Hadith Wednesday” in the newspaper.

He contributed to the authorship of the approach of the Christian religion of the Ministry of Education for the foundation phase, commanded by the Ministry and the Sudan Churches complex. Khartoum, the capital of culture, was printed with the book “seventy articles on angels”, and its articles which exceeded two thousand articles in various books follow, which made it an intellectual and spiritual reference for many.

Dr. Al -qumsa Faraoths Faraj has received many honors from different sides, notably the Institute of College of Aviation, the Union of the Islamic University of Omdurman, Al -Alamein Club, Al -Salam Makers, Matthew Petroleum Company, the Khartoum South Forum, the Bohin Cultural Club, the South Egypt and Community of the Sudane community in the community germinal.

He participated in numerous conferences in Sudan by presenting research and presidency sessions, and also participated in dialogues, conferences and seminars outside Sudan, such as the Coptic Studies Institute in the construction of Saint-Royce, where he was a guest teacher.

He presented important theses in the History Department of the African Research and Studies Institute of the University of Cairo, including “Diplomacy of Nubia Kings” in 2006, “Alexandria Church in the Kingdoms of Christian Nubia” in 2007, “Alexandria Church in Libya” in 2008 and “Alexandria Church in Ethiopia”.

He was a member of the Board of Directors of the University of Al-Neelain (University of Cairo formerly Khartoum Branch), and member of the Board of Directors of the University of Medical and Technological Sciences (Mamoun Hamida), and he was appointed member of the Arab Arab in Arabic.

With the departure of Dr. Foms Filothy Faraj, Sudan has lost a unique national and religious stature, but its heritage will continue to be a beacon that lights up the paths of future generations, and its memory remains immortal in hearts and minds.
