Let’s make a dictator ..! – The face of the truth – ✍️ Ibrahim Shaqlawi

The elites strive to speak of a democratic transition, even if it is in the Sudanese affair, more possible as before the war. What we are witnessing now is not only a political tripper, but an almost complex collapse of the idea of the state itself. The threat confronted with the country is no longer limited to an armed conflict or a political division. Rather, it has exceeded the disintegration of the societal fabric, the loss of the national compass and the erosion of confidence between citizens and state institutions who try to remain consistent despite the challenges.

In this reality, the call to “make a national dictator” seems to be a gap in accepted political values, and it may seem to some as if it was a step back at a time when the world seeks pluralism, democracy and the civil rule.

But history does not always progress according to the ideal intentions. Sometimes the moment requires a deviation from the straight line, in favor of saving the entire structure of the fall. We are not talking about a tyrant who is opposed, nor a soldier who comes with a coup d’etat, but rather a strong central leadership, a clear vision governed by a known period, deliberate powers and a complete national project. Order of imposing the law, the extent of security, the union of people and the establishment of peaceful stability and the circulation of power.

Even the philosophers who wrote theories of freedom and the social contract did not deny the need for power in moments of danger. Jean -Jacques Rousseau, one of the pillars of modern political thought, wrote: “It may sometimes be necessary to be responsible for a person, when the security of the people is threatened.” This is what we are: an existential threat requires exceptional management. We do not need divided departments, nor for fragile alliances. We need an authority that speaks a decision, the audacity to act, and it controls the logic of rescue and wisdom, and not the logic of the partisan sales.

In the experiences of the world, we find an inspiring precedent that supports this idea without training with the blind tyranny that people fear. Singapore in the 1960s of the last century was a fragile, small country, exhausted by ethnic conflicts and non-resources. She could have fallen into the chaos trap forever, if she had not been for her man to get up: “Lee Kuan Yu”. He reigned with a strict fist, yes, but he wore a clear national project to rebuild the state.

He did not look for eternal survival in power, but rather sought to make a model. Develop a plan and identify the enemies of progress and the Renaissance: corruption, confusion, division and modern institutions built and increase the value of education, success and efficiency. After years, the name of Singapore has become synonymous with the economic miracle, administrative discipline and universal identity, although in its infancy, it looked more like the same step as we are living now.

We are not required to import this experience as it is, but demanding that we are inspired by her soul. We need a leader in this style: national, rational, daring, imposing the law fairly, and he is not afraid to make a decision. Direct for three years, no more, during which he prepares the land to build the State, not to perpetuate his authority, then to withdraw as he came, without singing or glorification, but rather by respecting the people and recognizing his role. Since the first day, the accounting mechanisms, the guarantees and the transition card must be built, so that Sudan does not back down in a quagmire, “I only show you what I see.”

Some people may ask: what we currently offer to a rehearsal of what is really practiced through the sovereign council or the current military leadership? The truth is that what we are witnessing today is a collective administration which has been able, despite all the challenges, to maintain the presence of the State in the face of a war which targeted its political, geographic and social entity. It is not in itself an easy task in the light of the existential threat which aimed at the entity of the State.

But what this leadership now needs is total support for a handful of governing security and a complete national project, clearly defined, based on political will, not the reactions and addresses the interior before the outside. Here, I mean that the current head of state, the first team, Abdel -Fattah al -Burhan, is the one who considered him to apply to support this historical task, because we approach, not as a military, but in his national quality. We say to him: if you want to be, be a legitimate, not a person. The story is not made by someone who reaches power, but who knows when to use it and when to put it aside.

Sudan does not need someone to govern him, but rather who leads him; Not to those who prolong the crisis, but rather to those who shorten his pain. Be a dictator if necessary, but in the sense that “Lee Quanu” understood, not as tyrants practiced in our history. Judge with courage, not with oppression. Beat in the hands of corruption, not on the back of the different. And make a bridge, not a wall. And if the three years have passed, do not wait for people to ask you to leave, but rather surprise them to leave alone … This moment alone will immortalize your name, not in the list of power, but in the conscience of the nation and the book of history.

Faced with the truth, we are not in place of promoting dictatorship, but we rather call things as they are: the country is at a stage that requires a grip that does not kill, a mental adoption that does not take revenge, leadership that speaks the language of duty, not the language of personal glory. It is an invitation once for the theory of freedoms, yes, but it is perhaps the last treatment before the complete political death, which has no other heir than to cry on a homeland without legitimate. So let’s do it … a three-year-old national dictator, no more. To put ourselves at the threshold of the country we deserve.

You are fine and well
