An inspection campaign for the Branch of the Pharmaceutical Council of the State of the Red Sea led to the seizure of unregistered drugs and the closure of a certain number of pharmaceutical institutions

The National Council for Medicines and Toxins – The Red Sea Branch – has implemented an inspection enlargement campaign in the field, with the aim of organizing the medicine market and ensuring the safety and quality of drugs in circulation. The campaign included a number of pharmaceutical institutions within the city of Port Sudan, within the framework of the continuous efforts of the Council in this area.

The director of the National Council of National Medicines and State toxins, Dr. Yasser Baghdadi, said that the campaign was targeting a number of vital districts in the city of Port Sudan, and was particularly focused on revision of licenses and drug safety, and ensuring that pharmacies adhere to technical controls and requirements approved by the Council.

The campaign resulted in the closure of a number of pharmaceutical institutions, after seizing quantities of unregistered drugs. Dr. Baghdadi explained that this step dates back to an integrated action plan aimed at tightening control of the drug market and fighting illegal practices that threaten the health of citizens.

He underlined the continuation of supervision campaigns during the coming period to include additional areas within the State, calling pharmacies and pharmaceutical institutions to respect the laws and regulations regulating the practice of the profession and to ensure that it is treated with reliable and authorized sources.
