Sudan and Russia discuss the improvement of cooperation in the mining sector, in the midst of mutual investment aspirations

The Minister of Minerals, Nourred Al -Daim, had official interviews with a delegation from the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which includes a certain number of business and investors, in a movement aimed at pushing bilateral cooperation in the mining sector and activating economic agreements between the two countries.
The meeting took place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Minerals at the Sudan Port, in the presence of the ministry’s under -secretary, Dr. Hind Siddiq, Director of the General Authority for Geological Research, the Geology of Ahmed Harun Al -Tom and the Minister of the Ministerial Executive Abbad Mossadak.
The talks focused on the means of expanding the strategic partnership between Sudan and Russia in the fields of exploration and mining, in addition to discussing the mechanisms of implementing agreements signed between the two parties, and overcoming the obstacles to which Russian companies working or wishing to invest in the country may be confronted.
The Minister of Minerals declared at the start of the meeting that the visit of the Russian delegation in current circumstances represents a “message of support for Sudanese relations”, highlighting the passion of the Sudanese government to strengthen partnerships with mutual benefit.
For their part, the members of the Russian delegation expressed their growing interest in the Sudanese market, noting the availability of promising possibilities in the metal sector and their aspiration to establish long -term investment projects.
This meeting comes in the context of Sudan’s efforts to attract foreign investments in the mineral sector, which is one of the most eminent economic sectors in the country, despite the security and economic challenges that Khartoum is confronted at the moment.
