Support behavior and conscious confrontation ✍️ Taha Haroun Hamed

In the era of unprecedented globalization and cultural opening, societies have faced multiple challenges linked to the preservation of cultural identity and authentic moral values, in the light of the flow of many foreign behaviors which are not linked to local values and traditions. Exotic behaviors mean the models of behavior that appear in a specific social environment following external influences – whether cultural, media or even economic – which are foreign to the system of recognized social values and behavior in this environment.
We underline the most important manifestations of these behaviors, the reasons for their spread, then we discuss conscious and effective means of confronting them in a balanced way which preserves society with its moral and social balance without falling into the trap of closure or isolation.
First of all:
Manifestations of exotic behavior
Exotic behavior manifest in several forms, different depending on the societies, the most important of which are:
Verbal and physical violence: whether in schools, in the streets or in social networks.
Underestimation
: Like the justice of parents, respect for adults and to preserve family ties.
Exaggeration in consumer manifestations: by imitating Western lifestyle in clothing, fashion and pride of property.
Indifference to social responsibilities: like the decline of the spirit of volunteering and the weakness of national affiliation.
The spread of a culture of blind imitation of influencers: unconsciously or critical assessment of the content they favor.
Digital dependence phenomenon:
Including violent games, offensive clips and communication applications which affect the psychological and social balance of the individual.
secondly:
Reasons for the spread of exotic behavior (with low content)
For the spread of these behaviors, locking reasons, we mention:
Media and technical opening:
Where the individual has become vulnerable to universal content which is not subject to censorship or cultural examination.
Value and educational vacuum:
Due to the weakness of certain educational establishments in the principles of introduction in a practical and sustainable manner.
The absence of positive models: whether in the family or in the media, which leaves a vacuum that is often filled with distorted models.
Economic and social pressures:
This can push some to adopt deviant behavioral models as a means of escaping or rebellion.
Inaccurate tradition:
Especially between the category of young people and adolescents, in the search for excellence or self-confirmation.
Family control:
The result of parents’ concern or the lack of effective family communication.
Third: the conscious means of confrontation
Not only does the danger of exotic behavior in their propagation, but in the unbalanced agreement with them, either some meet them with absolute rejection and closure, or by leniency and unconditional acceptance. Consequently, conscious confrontation must take into account modern challenges without neglecting the constants.
1. Education with balanced value
Study programs and media programs must focus on value awareness through realistic life situations and not only theoretical indoctrination.
Develop the skills of critical thinking among young people to enable them to distinguish between acceptable and rejected behavior.
2. Improve the role of the family
The family is the first fort, and it is important to restore their educational role through open dialogue, improve models and provide a safe incubator environment.
The construction of a friendship between parents and children facilitates early detection of unwanted behavior.
3. The role of useful media
Encourage the production of media content which reflects authentic values and maintains the pace over time in an attractive way.
Fight the media models that promote it to banality and superficial or violent behavior.
4. Educational and religious institutions
Fusion of moral values in applied academic courses.
Provide a balanced religious discourse that imitates times in a rational and human language, far from activism or escape.
5. Age of the laws on deterrents
The activation of laws related to the fight against behavioral crimes, such as intimidation, harassment and electronic abuses.
Regulate digital content to protect low age groups from sliding behind harmful behaviors.
6. Empower young people
The involvement of young people in targeted community activities that improve their affiliation and provide them with a healthy alternative to self -expression.
Support young people’s initiatives in the fields of innovation, volunteering, arts, games and other
Fourth: Finally
Emotional behavior, even if they are an inevitable result of the opening of societies and the development of means of communication, they do not necessarily mean a direct threat, if they treat them with conscience and meaning. What is necessary is not to fight all the new ones, but to sift it and to assess it in the light of authentic societal values and interests. The family, the school, the media, the religious and the government must join a complete national project which improves the immunity of the psychological and cultural community, and establishes a generation capable of interacting with the world without losing its identity.
