A fingerprint on the way to the Dongola Association for Culture and Heritage, Nubian, Cairo Office – Something for the Fatherland

When Dr. Set Al Banat, Hassan, asks me, this main stature in public work, to join the walk of the Dongola association, I had no choice but to express my deep appreciation for his precious confidence. It was a request that brings many meanings, especially since I consider myself an integral part of this association for many years. My fingerprint is clear in his career and has participated in many of his activities and initiatives, and has contributed to a modest effort to achieve some of his objectives.

At that time, Dr. Set Al Banat said that I would continue my career with the association, but on the one hand advisory, to the oldest experience and advice, and I will be supporting support for the ambitious young people who directs this March. However, my assessment of the current situation and the association’s march at the current and future stage prompted me to make another decision. Dr. Set al -Banat promised that I would be one of his executive weapons working in the association, and I will participate effectively in everything that would improve the work, until we reach a stage of total satisfaction with regard to the association’s performance. It is only then that I give way to young people from the association to receive the flag and continue the trip, and I come back to the advisory contribution.

Dr. Muhammad Awad Muhammad Khair is a pioneer who does not lie to his family !!

In this context, I must refer with any appreciation and respect for the pivotal role that Dr. Mohamed Awad Mohamed Khair, president of the Dongola Association for Culture and Heritage Nubians, played to establish this important cultural building. Dr. Mohamed Awad is one of the most important figures in the field of public work in Dongola, and he has important contributions that cannot be overlooked, and perhaps the most important is the creation of this association, which mainly aimed to disseminate the authentic Nubian heritage and the rich Sudanese culture.

The role of Dr. Mohamed Awad was not limited to being a sponsor and founder of this entity, but rather an active participant in his meetings, and an adviser and was directed to young people, who offers them his vast experience and directs them towards the achievement of the objectives. Thanks to its great efforts, the Dongola Association has succeeded in reaching many concrete achievements, inside or outside Sudan, and has managed to be a distinctive cultural voice which reflects the Sudanese identity.

The Dongola association has been established to be a real lighthouse for community and cultural work, in particular its office in the heart of Cairo, where the paths of history are intertwined with the present of the Sudanese community. This association is not only a social forum, but rather a dynamic entity that is life, an integrated cultural center and an field to exchange experiences and improve cultural links. The association has proven over the years that it has been able to adapt to the challenges and provide its flexibility and efficiency services, whether by providing aid to needy cultural events or by organizing that maintain Sudanese identity in diaspora countries.

What distinguishes the Dongola association is its large mass base and its prominent activity, which is not limited to one side, but extends to include several social, cultural and service dimensions. He was and is always an essential pillar in the life of the Sudanese community, and an example to follow in public work. Thanks to its vast organizational experience, the association has managed to effectively manage events and initiatives to stay at the heart of the Sudanese scene in Egypt.

However, this important activity and this prestigious position of the Dongola association made its exit from the executive office of the Supreme Council of the Sudanese community in Egypt a real shock. This outing does not represent the simple loss of a seat on the council, but rather an absence manufactured and planned in an effective voice and a vital partner who played a fundamental role in the construction of this council and the realization of societal work. It seems that “manipulation of certain hands” and conflicts of power and influence were the cause of this deliberate exclusion. This is an organized and studied campaign to withdraw the Dongola association from the Executive Decision Service, which throws a shadow of suspicion of the integrity of the action and its justice.

What happened to the Dongola Association, this active and vital entity, emphasizes the size of the problem that ravages Sudanese public work in Egypt, and calls for a serious break to reassess walking and correct errors, so that we do not lose more important entities that serve our society.
