Political balance is the path to national stability – a national murmur – ✍️ Dr Tariq Ashari

Political balance represents the main pillar on which states are based and their rebirth, because no country can achieve development or maintain its unity in the light of a turbulent political scene. Sudan, with its historical complications and its cultural and ethnic diversity, needs more than ever to formulate a new equation which guarantees a balance between political forces and places national interest above all considerations.

The first entry to reach this balance is to consolidate the concept of the State as a inclusive entity which transcends the parts and the individuals. There is no political stability without strong and independent institutions, capable of protecting the law and its fairly application, far from politicization or close loyalty.

In addition, the management of the dispute by dialogue is the most realistic step to prevent shift in new conflicts. The round table which brings together the different forces around compromises is much more important than the language of weapons which have proven their failure over the decades. In the same context, transitional justice and national reconciliation emerge as a basic condition for eliminating accumulated bitterness and the construction of trusted bridges between social and political components.

On the other hand, economic stability remains an essential support for any balanced political process, because economic fragility opens the door largely to tensions and divisions. The media also play a central role in promoting balance, by adopting a responsible national discourse which is far from incentive and bias, and leads public opinion towards calm and construction.

Finally, the realization of political balance cannot be completed without national education which instills in future generations a culture of the diversity of respect and estimation of the difference as a source of force, not as a weak factor.

Political balance is not a ready recipe, but rather a cumulative process that needs a sincere will, firm institutions and an open dialogue that does not exclude anyone. Only this road is sufficient to restore Sudan to balance and put it on the stability and development threshold.

Political balance is not an intellectual luxury or a political slogan, but rather the condition of existence and survival of the Sudanese State. If we want a stable and safe homeland, we must put the differences aside and proceed to a rational spirit towards dialogue, justice and the supreme national interest. Politics without balance only produce chaos. As for balanced politics, it is the one that builds a homeland that everyone can and its inhabitants lead to security. Dodan is the most powerful and most beautiful war.
