The Geological Research Authority receives the salt plant from the Spanish company “SIRA

The general authority for geological research has received the new salt plant from the Spanish company “Serra”, in a strategic decision to locate the salt industry in the country.

A technical and administrative delegation of the authority was on the last preparations linked to shipping and installation, because the factory should arrive in the three months, to start its operation by the end of this year.

The director general of authority, geology, advisor to Ahmed Haroun Al -Tom, said that the factory is one of the last global technologies in the salt industry, with a production capacity of 10 tonnes per hour. He stressed that the project represents a qualitative change which will help cover the need for muddy salt in a way that avoids the spread of iodine deficiency diseases distributed throughout Sudan.

Al -Tom stressed that the factory constitutes an important step in the policy of the Ministry of Minerals and the Authority for the Diversification of the Production and Development of Manufacturing Industries having an economic feasibility, stressing that the current year will witness the operation of elected projects for each State.

He also revealed the completion of advanced stadiums in the preparation of the site, including delivery of the power supply, the conduct of technical studies and the start of the expansion of navigation in preparation for real production, and the project was considered a great success for the work team according to its implementation.
