The Governor of Gedaref sponsors the opening of the exhibition “We are able” for food security with the participation of disabled people at the level of the state

Professor Abu Bakr Ali, director of local government and representative of the Governor of the State of Gedaref, opened this afternoon, the activities and food security networks, which included a wide range of crafts and food and animal products. This exhibition is a harvest of training and support programs that lasted five years in the “We are capable” project, which aims to improve the capacities of disabled people.
Five years to give to improve food security
The representative of the Governor of Gedaref confirmed that the exposure represents the product of five years of continuous work in six localities of the State, praising the distinguished level reached by the project to support the segment of disabled and enables them to provide food security for themselves and society. He also called on the need for national and international organizations to provide the support necessary to ensure the continuity of the project after the end of his first step.
The “We are capable” project and its role in supporting people with disabilities
For his part, Professor Mutasim Bashir Hadi, the coordinator of the Zawa organization project, explained that the program had come with the support of the Dutch Foreign Affairs in order to allow disabled people to rely on themselves in food production and achieve economic stability. He pointed out that the exhibition has revealed exceptional capacities for these people in the fields of donations and innovation, and the most important capacities they have acquired thanks to specialized training and programs.
An invitation to more networking and sustainable support
The project coordinator stressed the importance of defending disabled people and improving cooperation between various national and international organizations to ensure the continuity of the positive results obtained by the project. He also called for more networking between organizations to open broader opportunities for disabled people in the fields of development and food production.
