🔴 Without the Renaissance dam, the heavy rains would have caused historical destruction in Sudan and Egypt.

Addis Ababa: 4- October-2025

0 The Government of Ethiopia followed with great amazement and anxiety, the last declaration published by the Egyptian Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation concerning the Great Dam of the Ethiopian Renaissance (RDRD) and the Réadi river. Again, deliberate lies and deceptions have become the main characteristic of the official discourse published by Cairo in this case.

0 The Egyptian declaration, full of contradictions and false allegations, is nothing other than a desperate attempt to perpetuate the old accounts according to the delusions of the domination of the water. However, the simplest examination of the facts is sufficient to expose the lie of these allegations.

0 Historical data of the blue Nile flow, recorded over 93 consecutive years in Sudan, show that the floods before building the dam were more than 800 million cubic meters per day in August and more than 750 million cubic meters per day in September. While the average daily launch of the dam in 2025 was around 154.7 million cubic meters per day in August and 472 million cubic meters per day in September. These figures speak for themselves: the dam is considerably reduced by the severity of the floods, the fever of lives, goods and infrastructure in downstream countries.

If it was not for the Renaissance dam, the heavy rains in the Ethiopian highlands this season would have caused historical destruction in Sudan and Egypt. But thanks to the organized dam flow, downstream companies have benefited from the stability of water flow and disaster reduction.

0 and one of the ridiculous aspects of the Egyptian declaration is his claim to speak on behalf of his neighbors. The official declarations issued by the Sudanese Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation have confirmed that the recent causes of floods in Sudan are mainly due to the increase in the flow of white Nile water – a tributary that has nothing to do with Ethiopia – in addition to the fluvinious model fluctuations caused by climate change, and damage to the Sudanese infrastructure due conflicts. Cairo ignored these facts and tried to attach the responsibility of Ethiopia, in a deliberate attempt to mislead the international community and a false narrative industry of the victim.

0 Ethiopia, for its part, continues to respect cooperation, transparency and exchange information with Sudan through existing executives, and will continue to work with the Sudanese authorities and experts to ensure that the Renaissance dam will remain a source of good and stability for Sudan by reducing destructive floods.

0 and, as Ethiopia rejects in detail and detailing the false slanders and the accusations issued by the Egyptian authorities, this confirms that the time has come for Cairo to abandon the illusions of the “Historical Rights” So-Called which represents a final colonial heritage which has no place in the world today.

0 The Renaissance dam represents pride for Ethiopia and the peoples of the entire Nile basin, which is a production celebrated in various parts of Africa and countries that support development on the continent. And emerging Africa will not stop its march due to the illusions of the “water monopoly” or the tents to return to the colonial past.

0 Ethiopia reaffirms that it will continue to manage the Renaissance dam, and all its water facilities, according to the highest professional and technical standards, to ensure the fair and reasonable use of common water resources, and improves joint cooperation and prosperity in the Nile basin.
