A major facility for winter emergencies and disease vector control in Khartoum State

Today, the Khartoum State Ministry of Health, through the General Administration of Preventive Medicine, inaugurated the Grand Camp for Winter Emergencies and Disease Vector Control, at Al Rabaa Square in Shambat, Khartoum Bahri locality, with the participation of Bahri and East Nile localities and under the patronage of the Khartoum State Governor.

Al-Nafra saw widespread participation by health personnel, civil defense forces, the Sudanese Red Crescent and popular resistance, in addition to major logistical support including hand- and vehicle-borne watering and spraying mechanisms, as part of what was known as the “Reconstruction Quad”.

Director General of the Khartoum State Ministry of Health and Minister-designate Dr. Fath al-Rahman Muhammad al-Amin confirmed that Al-Nafra had been carefully prepared and planned to implement broad interventions contributing to the elimination of winter disease vectors, promising that its results would be reflected in the coming days in terms of decreasing mosquito density and malaria and dengue infection rates.



He also announced the completion of the state health institutions operation plan and reaching the recovery phase, in addition to developing an integrated strategic plan to advance the health sector during the year 2026.

For his part, the director of the General Administration of Preventive Medicine explained that the campaign will continue for 15 days to cover all localities in the state, while the executive director of the locality of Bahri confirmed that the campaign is taking place according to a precise arrangement that guarantees the achievement of tangible results for citizens, with the operation of electricity and water services nearing completion.

The executive director of the East Nile locality indicated that environmental preparation and the fight against epidemics represent a top priority to support the return of citizens and the recovery of the locality.

The explosion is part of ongoing efforts to improve environmental health, reduce the spread of diseases and improve health conditions, with a view to a safe return and stability in Khartoum State.
