Al-Aysar: The Sudanese people have faced challenges with remarkable resilience and a strong legacy of coexistence and national belonging

Port Sudan – Zoll Net – January 3, 2026
The Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism, Mr. Khaled Al-Aissar, confirmed that the seventieth anniversary of Sudan’s independence represents an important national milestone to reflect on the journey the state has taken since gaining independence, and to recall the achievements and challenges observed during these decades, as well as the lessons they have produced at the political, economic and social levels.
Al-Aisar stressed, in a press release on the occasion of the independence anniversary, that Sudan faces complex and accumulating challenges, exacerbated in recent years due to exceptional circumstances that cast a shadow on the lives of citizens and the functioning of state institutions.
He explained that, despite these challenges, the Sudanese people have retained a remarkable capacity for resilience and a rich heritage of values of coexistence, tolerance and national belonging, emphasizing the importance of taking collective responsibility for the present and working together to formulate a clearer and more stable future.
Al-Aisar added that entry into the country in 2026 opens the door to fundamental questions about whether the next step constitutes the start of a new path, based on a comprehensive national vision and a modern concept of governance and development, in a way that meets the aspirations of the Sudanese people for peace, stability and prosperity.
