Sennar Governor orders the creation of an emergency room to protect the horticultural sector from risks – Zul Net

In a move aimed at securing production and strengthening agricultural stability, the Sennar State Governor has ordered the creation of a special emergency room for the horticulture sector, to monitor the problems of producers on the ground and protect this vital sector from risks, including flooding.

During his meeting today with the Banana Producers and Exporters Association of Al-Saponabi Region, the governor affirmed the full commitment of the state government to solving all problems and obstacles facing the production process in the horticultural sector, stressing the need to provide the necessary protection to ensure the stability and sustainability of production.

He stressed that the emergency room to be established will strive to strengthen production capacities and address urgent challenges in a way that serves the local economy and enhances the horticulture sector’s contribution to exports.

For his part, Director General of the Ministry of Production and State Economic Resources, Engineer Nour El-Din Daoud Musa, explained that increasing production efficiency during the next stage requires urgent and decisive interventions, revealing the characteristics of the ministry’s plan for the year 2026, which places the increase in banana production and the development of export operations at the top of its priorities.

For their part, representatives of the Banana Producers and Exporters Association welcomed the interest of the state government, stressing that Sennar State has great resources and capabilities that qualify it to occupy an advanced position in the production of horticultural crops, appreciating the move to constitute an emergency room due to its role in stabilizing farmers and protecting orchards and products.
