The President of the Sovereignty Council thanks the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, his Crown Prince and the American President for their interest in the peace file in Sudan

Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and his Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, as well as to US President Donald Trump, for their interest in the issue of peace in Sudan and their willingness to support efforts to end the war and restore stability.

This happened during his meeting today with Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Walid Al-Khuraiji, in the presence of Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Muawiyah Othman Khaled.

The Saudi official conveyed to the President of the Sovereignty Council the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince, as well as their wishes to the Sudanese people for continued peace, security and stability, highlighting the Kingdom’s continued interest in supporting Sudan in this delicate stage.

Lieutenant General Al-Burhan praised the historic relations and fraternal ties that unite the Sudanese and Saudi people, commending the Kingdom’s regional and international role in supporting peace efforts in the region.

The Chairman of the Sovereignty Council also expressed appreciation for US President Donald Trump’s interest in the Sudanese file and his efforts to end the war and resolve the political and humanitarian crisis in the country.

The meeting focused on the peace initiative sponsored by the Saudi Crown Prince and the US President, which aims to resolve the Sudanese crisis and create the climate for comprehensive peace, in addition to discussing the current conditions in the region.

The meeting also discussed the ongoing arrangements for the convening of the Strategic Coordination Council between Sudan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which enjoys the generous patronage of the leaders of the two countries, which contributes to strengthening bilateral cooperation and developing relations in various fields.
