Federal Government Minister reviews performance of popular resistance in East Darfur

The Minister of the Federal Government Office, Eng. Muhammad Salih Kartkila met with the Governor of East Darfur State, Maulana Muhammad Adam Abdel Rahman, in his office, in the presence of the Chairman and members of the State People’s Armed Resistance Committee, as part of strengthening coordination between the federal and state governments and supporting national efforts in the post-war phase.

During the meeting, the Minister of the Federal Government Office received detailed information provided by the leader of the Popular Resistance, Mr. Al-Tom, according to Al-Rasoul Al-Tom, on the work and general programs of the Armed People’s Resistance Committee in East Darfur State, and its role in popular support for the armed forces and in organizing the mobilized personnel.

The Governor of East Darfur, Maulana Muhammad Adam Abdel Rahman, explained that the armed popular resistance represents one of the fundamental pillars of the Battle of Karama, stressing that it embodied the unity of the ranks and the popular cohesion behind the armed forces in the defense of the country’s sovereignty and the protection of its national gains. The governor praised the discipline and organization with which the Popular Resistance Committee continued to work, as well as the great role it played in mobilizing society and supporting the domestic front.

The governor affirmed the commitment of the state government to provide necessary support to popular resistance programs and work towards the development of its institutional performance in accordance with laws and regulations, ensuring the sustainability of its role in the liberation, recovery and reconstruction phase, stressing the importance of close coordination with federal government institutions in the coming period.

For his part, Minister of Federal Government Office, Engineer Muhammad Salih Kartkila, expressed appreciation for the efforts made by the East Darfur State Government and the Armed People’s Resistance Committee, hailing the great national role played by the popular resistance in supporting the armed forces and confronting the rebel militias.

The Minister stressed that the Federal Government Office pays particular attention to the experiences of states in organizing grassroots and community work, noting that what the East Darfur State Popular Resistance Committee presented is a positive model that can be built on and strengthened. He underlined the importance of unifying efforts between the center and states to establish security and stability and support recovery and reconstruction pathways.
