Shendi: The first batch of waste tankers will arrive in the next few hours

Small waste haulers designated to work in the neighborhoods are expected to arrive in Shendi in the coming hours, as part of the environmental sanitation project implemented by the locality.

The executive director of Shindi locality, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar Al-Sheikh, said that the first batch of small tankers intended for transporting waste amounts to 15 tankers specialized in works in the city's neighborhoods and elsewhere.

He added that this is the first batch of small tankers and it is expected that a number of waste compaction machines will arrive in the coming period, so these machines constitute a excellent solution to the problem of collection and transportation of waste, the production of which has increased several times compared to what it was before, due to the large number of people arriving from Khartoum due to the war and the The increase in waste production in preparation workshops operating in large and small markets.

Khaled stressed that these mechanisms represent a stage of the environmental sanitation project announced by the locality, whose result at the end of the year is that Shendi will be the first at the state level in the process of sanitation and environmental cleanliness for the year 2024 AD. .
