In the Kingdom of Morocco, under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God grant him victory, Professor Mortada Abu Ubaida, Minister Plenipotentiary and Deputy Ambassador of Sudan to the Kingdom of Morocco, and Professor Ismail Muhammad Tom, rapporteur of the Kingdom of Morocco. Science and Heritage Committee of the National Commission for UNESCO, participated in the meeting.

The meeting is accompanied by the participation and presence of Mr. Chakib Benmoussi, Prime Minister of National Education and Education, President of the National Commission for UNESCO in the Kingdom of Morocco, ministers and representatives of African countries, heads of national committees members of the Alliance. national committees, African directors of learning, directors general of partner organizations “UNESCO, ISESCO and ALSCO”, as well as the president of the African Foundation for Lifelong Learning and vice-president, of the Secretary General and members of delegations from African countries.

Mr. Naji Mansour, speaking at the opening session on behalf of Sudan, said in his explanation of the current situation Sudan is going through since the outbreak of war on April 15, 2023, that studies have been suspended for a whole year and more. over 19 million boys and girls have lost their places in education, welcoming the bold decisions of the Council Chairman, his deputy, the Minister of Education and state governors that schools have been opened in some safe states, he added. that they will be opened gradually.

Naji thanked His Majesty King Mohammed VI, King of the Kingdom of Morocco, may God grant him victory, for this initiative, which he considered a lifeline to save African countries and accelerate lifelong learning. of life by 2030 AD. apologized to Minister of Education and Chairman of the National Commission for UNESCO, Professor Mahmoud Saralkhatm Muhammad Al-Houri, and Professor Wafa Sayed Ahmed, Secretary General of the National Committee.

Mr. Naji called on the African Foundation for Lifelong Learning to support Sudan in light of the critical circumstances Sudan is going through.
