Federal Health Minister meets World Health Organization Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean (AMRO)

The Federal Minister of Health in charge, Dr. Haitham Muhammad Ibrahim, on the sidelines of the 77th meetings of the World Health Organization in Geneva, the Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean, Dr. Hanan Balkhi, in the presence of the Director of World Health Organization office in Sudan, Dr. Shibli Sahbani, the deputy representative of the Sudanese mission in Geneva, Ambassador Badr al-Din al-Jaafari, and the director of the General Department of International Health, Dr. Alaa Al-Tayeb Muddathir.
The minister stressed that Sudan continues to strengthen its partnership with the organization in order to achieve common health goals, noting the importance of effective cooperation between the ministry and the organization to support efforts to advance the health sector and its sustainability at different levels. notably through joint efforts to combat diseases and epidemics, so as to preserve human health and the safety of communities.
The Dr. praised. Haitham praised the central role played by the Regional Office in supporting the health systems of countries in the region and in cooperating in monitoring the most important priority health issues and policies at the regional and global levels.
For her part, the World Health Organization Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean, Dr. Hanan Balkhi, expressed her eagerness to meet with the Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, noting that the efforts made to continue providing health care to the Sudanese people in the current circumstances are admirable because they represent a challenge.
Balkhi affirmed his full commitment to supporting the strengthening of the health system, appreciating the important and effective role of the Sudanese sector, saying that with your leadership, we can achieve this.
