The General Administration for Technology Transfer and Popularization of the Ministry of Production, in cooperation with the Arab Seed Production Company, organized an information workshop on the importance of using improved seeds in the process agricultural. The workshop covered scientific articles, including one on the subject. agricultural crop technology presented by Dr. Al-Siddiq Ahmed Al-Mustafa, marketing and promotion document, presented by Dr. Ibrahim Abdallah Musa. The role of media in spreading seed cultivation was presented by Dr. Bushra Habibullah and a paper on agricultural engineering, presented by Dr. Mahmoud Abdullah, Director of the State Agricultural Research Department.

The Director General of the Ministry of Production and Economic Resources of Sennar State, Minister in Charge, said that Sennar State has drawn up a plan for the target areas to make the agricultural season a success, by focusing on food security crops, mainly providing food to Sudan. and the State of Sennar, particularly “maize and millet”, in addition to export crops, sesame, sunflower and cotton. He stressed that his ministry has started to organize the needs of the agricultural season in agricultural inputs in gasoline, seeds and financing.

Addressing the workshop held at Sennar Technology Hall, he highlighted the importance of the workshop in the context of educating producers on the importance of adopting the application of modern technologies. Stressing that his ministry is working assiduously in all agricultural sectors to achieve all the basic elements for the success of the agricultural season by providing seeds and advice in addition to the required prevention.

The Director General said that it is extremely important to raise awareness among farmers about the importance of improved seeds as they form the basis of agricultural work. He explained that the 2023 campaign was marked by the introduction of new varieties and that they had a significant impact on increasing vertical production and resistance. to certain diseases and problems that affect agriculture in general. He expressed his thanks to the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) for their continued support to small-scale producers and seed companies. Stressing that all efforts will be focused on increasing productivity through a continuous presence in production areas.

For his part, Engineer/Al-Khair Omar Ali, Director of the State General Administration of Technology Transfer and Popularization, said that this workshop is part of the popularization programs, announcing the launch of preparations of administration for the 2024-2025 agricultural cycle. season at a forum that highlights the importance of using improved seeds and agricultural machinery in agricultural operations, as they form the basis of the production process.

He stressed that expectations indicate that this year's fall will be above normal rates, that June will experience rains within climatic rates, that July will be above natural rates and that August and September will experience climate The highest. rates. He called on farmers to complete their arrangements and preparations to enter this loop by applying modern technologies to increase production and productivity, to achieve food security, standing with the people's armed forces to ensure the protection and food security of Sudanese citizens. . He said his administration is constantly working to make farmers understand the importance of applying modern agricultural technologies.
