Transitional Sovereignty Council President Meets Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister

The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, met today with Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Walid bin Abdul Karim Al-Khereiji, who arrived in the country on an official visit.

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Awad, said in a press statement that the discussions focused on the call for the resumption of the Jeddah platform. He added that the Chairman of the Sovereign Council stressed Sudan's keenness to make the Jeddah platform a success, considering it as a foundation on which to build.

Stressing the need to implement what was agreed in May 2023, he said the meeting also addressed the importance of broadening the base of facilitators in the Jeddah negotiations, indicating that the President of the Sovereignty Council expressed his reservations about the presence of any party supporting the rebel militias.

The President of the Sovereignty Council expressed his thanks and appreciation for the positions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in support of the security and stability of Sudan.

Highlighting the fraternal relations between the two brother peoples.

The Saudi Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs explained that the Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister conveyed to the President of the Sovereignty Council the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and his Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, indicating that the Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister affirmed during the meeting the commitment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the security and stability of Sudan and its unlimited support, given that the stability of Sudan has a direct impact on the security and stability of the region, indicating the enormous resources that Sudan has in various fields.

It is worth noting that the meeting was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Director General of the General Intelligence Service.
