The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, held today a bilateral meeting with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed at the Hospitality Palace, during which he discussed the bilateral relations ties between Sudan and Ethiopia.

The Chairman of the Sovereign Council said that the visit of the Ethiopian Prime Minister is a testament to the depth of relations between the peoples of the two countries, indicating that it is an extension of the Ethiopian leadership's sincerity and good intentions towards Sudan.

Highlighting the strength of relations between the two countries and the importance of preserving them.

Lieutenant General Al-Burhan briefed the Ethiopian Prime Minister on the situation in Sudan in the context of the rebellion led by the terrorist militia Rapid Support against the state and its institutions.

Stressing that the militias have committed crimes and atrocities against the Sudanese people, in addition to destroying state infrastructure and targeting national institutions.

The Chairman of the Sovereignty Council stressed Sudan's willingness to develop areas of cooperation with Ethiopia in order to serve the common interests of the peoples of the two countries.

For his part, the Ethiopian Prime Minister expressed his thanks to the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council for his warm hospitality and welcome, indicating that his visit to Sudan is an act of solidarity with the Sudanese people and said that true friends appear in times of distress.

Abiy Ahmed said that this visit came to confirm that the Ethiopian government and people stand with Sudan, indicating that the visit is a message of solidarity with the Sudanese people in their ordeal. He added: “This war will end and the relations between the two countries will be over. Both countries will remain firm and strong.

Stressing the importance of peace as the basis for development, emphasizing that the problems of countries must be resolved internally without external interference.
