The President of the Sovereignty Council meets the Masalit delegation

The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, met today with a delegation from the Masalit tribe, led by King Yacoub Mohammed, King Yacoub, King of the Masalit in South Darfur.

The meeting addressed the tribe's priorities and concerns, namely the liberation of West Darfur State.

King Muhammad Yacoub said in a press statement that the delegation includes representatives of all Masalit people in Sudan.

Stressing the tribe's support for the unity and territorial integrity of Sudan, he highlighted the Masalit tribe's preparations to provide fighters to the armed forces to contribute to the liberation battle.

He explained that the delegation was assured of the ongoing arrangements for the liberation battle in West Darfur and said that citizens would soon return home from refugee and internally displaced persons camps.

Stressing that the violations they suffered at the hands of the rebel terrorist militia Rapid Support will be punished and held accountable.
