Northern Governor Meets Health Ministry Director General to Review Outcomes of Port Sudan Visit

“The Governor of Northern State, Professor Abdeen Awadallah, met this morning in his office with the Director General of the State Ministry of Health, Dr Satti Hassan Satti.

In the presence of the Secretary General for State Social Affairs, Ms. Manal Makkawi, and the Executive Director of Dongola Locality, Dr. Makkawi Al-Khair,

The Director General of the Ministry of Health briefed the state governor on the outcome of his visit to the Red Sea State to follow up on donations committed by the Federal Minister of Health during his recent visit to the northern state.

The Director General of the state Department of Health said that during his visit to Port Sudan, he met with the Minister of Social Development, Ahmed Adam Bakhit, and the meeting discussed issues of investment in the health sector in the state, in addition to the issues of the Marawi Security Hospital, the disabled and the wounded from the Karama battle.

The two sides agreed to establish a centre in the state in partnership with Sudanese doctors in the UK to rehabilitate those injured in the Karama battle.

It was also agreed to add quality services to Marawi Daman Hospital.

On the other hand, the Director General of the Ministry of Health announced measures to begin work on establishing a pharmaceutical plant in the state.

In addition, during the meeting, the State Governor was briefed on the arrangements being made to implement the health emergency in the State, at a cost of ten trillion pounds, and the State Governor confirmed his sponsorship of this emergency.
