The “Conscious Mother” initiative is more than just an awareness-raising initiative, but rather an urgent response to the emergency situation that the Sudanese family is experiencing in Egypt. The initiative aims to raise awareness by providing Sudanese mothers with the knowledge and educational skills needed to care for their children in a new and different environment, and to support family cohesion by improving communication between family members and strengthening family ties, which helps protect children. from delinquency and integrate children into society by helping them adapt and adjust. With Egyptian society, prevent behavioral problems that may arise as a result of adjustment difficulties and protect children by educating mothers about the dangers of child neglect and abuse and how to prevent them. prevent them.
There are many reasons that have led to the exacerbation of the problems of Sudanese families in Egypt. The “Conscious Mother” initiative, as Sister Dr. Siham Moussa, one of the sponsors of the initiative, mentioned to me, needs the comprehensive support of various parties, and the most important of these parties, including the Sudanese Embassy in Egypt, representing the Sudanese state, by providing financial and logistical support to the initiative, and facilitating legal procedures for Sudanese families, and needs Sudanese associations and civil society organizations in Egypt by providing training programs for mothers, organizing awareness-raising events, alongside the media by highlighting the importance of the initiative, publishing success stories of Sudanese mothers and educational institutions by opening Sudanese schools or integrating Sudanese children into Egyptian schools, and providing them with the necessary support to adapt.
The “Aware Mother” initiative represents an important step towards protecting Sudanese children in Egypt and providing them with a safe environment. It is necessary for everyone to join forces to support this initiative and achieve its goals, with recommendations including: the need to conduct field studies to determine the real needs of Sudanese families in Egypt, to develop specialized training programs for Sudanese mothers, taking into account their specificities and challenges, and to provide psychological and social support centers for Sudanese families in the Sudan House and all Sudanese associations and organizations in Egypt, and to encourage cooperation between Sudanese businessmen in Egypt and Sudanese houses, associations, organizations and institutions. in Egypt to ensure the success of the initiative.
