The Al-Hafeer administrative unit of Dongola locality and its residential areas experienced heavy rains accompanied by dust storms a few days ago that led to the flooding of a large number of houses. The area also saw two deaths, in addition to the collapse of some houses.
These rains, which fell at a high rate and for the first time in the region in a long time, prompted the state government to intervene quickly and visit the region with a large delegation headed by Engineer Khaled Musa, Director General of the Ministry of Construction and Urban Planning, Chairman of the State Emergency Committee, Dr. Satti Hassan Satti, Director General of the State Ministry of Health, and Dr. Makkawi Al-Khair, Executive Director of Dongola Locality, Chairman of the Local Emergency Committee and Civil Defense Police.
The delegation noted the extent of the damage that affected a large number of houses and the committee distributed aid to the affected families, including tarpaulins and food supplies, as well as water for rinsing houses and streets in uninhabited areas and agricultural areas by the Civil Defense Police Directorate under the supervision of the emergency committee.
This visit had its consequences, and despite the harm that happened to some families, this visit had a positive effect on them, which alleviated the calamity for them.
Amidst the appeals from citizens, they expressed their thanks and praises to the Northern State Government, represented by the visiting delegation, which observed their conditions on the ground.
There are still committees in Hafeir unit to monitor the situation and submit their report to the local emergency committee until these exceptional circumstances are resolved.
We ask God to spare our country from conflicts, both apparent and hidden, and for victory to come to the armed forces on all fronts, as well as a speedy recovery for the wounded and the return of the missing.
