Sudan News Agency..Young Leadership – Journey – ✍️ Mahfouz Abdeen
It was reported that the Acting Minister of Cabinet Affairs issued a decision appointing Professor Ibrahim Musa Al-Bashir as the acting director of the Sudanese News Agency (SUNA) until a new director is appointed.
The wording of the decision reveals that this mission is temporary until the appointment of a new director.
Professor Ibrahim Musa is one of the excellent executives of SUNA. He has a great professional experience and human relations with the media community in general and the Sudanese News Agency community in particular. He has covered all sites, areas and departments of editorial work. advanced professional level and at an age that allows him to develop performances and implement all the development projects that SUNA needs, especially after the war that hit it and the rest of the state institutions. However, SUNA stands out from the rest of the other institutions. in that it is a huge media pillar and has a long history in media work. It constitutes the first “reference” of all Sudanese information and the “main” source of all local, regional and international media.
The Sudanese News Agency (SUNA) holds an esteemed position among Arab, African and Islamic news agencies and is a founding member of international and regional news agency federations.
SONA has highly professional executives, and many of its executives have moved abroad to work in Arab, Asian, European and other agencies, and some of them manage a number of offices of these foreign agencies in Sudan.
(SUNA) deserves great attention from the state and government as a national media institution, and it must receive care in order to overcome its old and modern crises.
I believe that the appointment of Professor Ibrahim Musa is fair to the workers because he is one of the sons of the agency, and this is a matter of appreciation, and this includes the extension of those who took over the leadership of SONA from among its employees, such as Dr. Al-Najeeb Adam Qamar Al-Din, Neamat Bilal, Abdullah Jadallah, Dr. Fakriya Abaezid and others, the last of whom was Ibrahim Musa.
Many of those who currently hold high positions in government are based on seniority or order of office. As a result, the world is moving towards young leaders in managing work, not only in institutions, but at the level of the head of state, as heads of state do. Barack Obama assumed the presidency of the largest country in the world, America, at the age of 47, Macron assumed the presidency of the Elysée in France, and he was just over thirty years old.
I believe that the word (until the appointment of a new director) that accompanied the decision of (temporary) assignment did not come to fruition, and the government could appoint Ibrahim Musa and replace him with another at any time, without this indication.
Ibrahim Musa can succeed if he finds the support and cooperation of the top management in the following: SONA in its financial aspects and in providing logistical support. As for professionalism, it is valued and increased, and this temporary mission can prove to Ibrahim Musa and his assistants. that they deserve this leadership more than others, given the qualifications they possess. He has experience in managing media work in his various localities, with an experience of almost thirty years, and this is enough.
Ibrahim Musa and his assistants can, through their work supported by professionalism, bring the authorities to take a decision in his favor to manage this agency with “authenticity” and not with “agency”.
The decision, despite the comments about it, is a recognition for the young cadres of (SUNA) to assume leadership and achieve a major breakthrough that will gain the satisfaction, favor and acceptance of senior leaders and media professionals in their various media outlets to obtain (professional) satisfaction that allows them to perform their work in the required manner through the work of (SUNA). It is the first (reference) and the main (source) of all news from Sudan.
Good luck, Ibrahim Musa and his honorable companions.
