The Council of Ministers of the Northern Government holds its ordinary meeting
The Northern State Government Council of Ministers held its ordinary meeting under the chairmanship of the Northern State Governor, Mr. Abdeen Awadallah.
The meeting approved the draft amendment of the state budget for the current year 2024.
The meeting also discussed the performance report of ministries and specialized councils for the second quarter of the current year. Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Culture and Information, Mr. Al-Baqir Okasha, official spokesman of the state government, said:
The meeting heard a briefing from the Director General of the Ministry of State Infrastructure, Engineer Khaled Musa, on the damage caused by rains and floods in the localities, and the interventions that were made to mitigate their effects.
He stressed that the performance rate is good in the absence of federal support to the state.
For his part, the Director General of the Ministry of Finance and Manpower, Mr. Abdullah Al-Azz, indicated that the amended state budget amounts to 179 billion pounds, adding that the increase rate amounts to 13 percent.
He said that this amendment was the result of the increase in the inflation rate and the prices of goods and services for citizens.
Al-Azz stressed that the amended budget took into account the increase in resources and insurance needs at the local level.
