Kuwait operates new airlift for people affected by war and floods in Sudan
The Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Sudan, Dr. Fahd Al-Dhafiri, announced that all arrangements have been made to launch a new airlift to help people affected by the war, torrents and floods in Sudan. Ambassador Al-Dhafiri said in statements to the press on Tuesday that, based on the high instructions of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah – may God protect him and protect him – to stand with the brothers in Sudan, to alleviate the disaster of the war, torrents and floods that have affected the brotherly Sudanese people, it was decided to send an airlift carrying humanitarian aid including ambulances, medical equipment, tents, medicines, food and insecticides. will arrive tomorrow, Wednesday, and planes will follow it on 15-18-20 of this month of August, stressing that this aid is part of a popular campaign under the title (Fazaa for Sudan) launched by the Kuwaitis. The Relief Society and the Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society, in partnership with many Kuwaiti societies and charitable institutions, added that the head of the Kuwaiti Patient Aid Society would travel to Sudan today, Tuesday, to inspect damaged health centers and medical equipment.
Ambassador Al-Dhafiri stressed that the new airlift is an extension of the airlift launched at the beginning of the war in Sudan and included 18 planes as well as two humanitarian ships, the last of which was a ship carrying life-saving medicines for cancer patients at a cost of one million dollars. Kuwaiti charitable societies and institutions operating in Sudan have also implemented dozens of humanitarian projects to alleviate the suffering of the affected people in various regions of Sudan, expressing appreciation for all the efforts made by the official and popular authorities of the State of Kuwait, which enabled the speedy completion of this airlift, especially since Sudan is witnessing an unprecedented rate of torrents and floods that have caused serious damage, given the difficult circumstances in which millions of people are living in.
