Federal Minister of Health meets Kassala Governor, discusses health situation in the state following cholera outbreak in Wad Al-Helio.

Federal Minister of Health Dr. Haitham Muhammad Ibrahim met today in Kassala city with the Governor of the State, Major General Maash Al-Sadiq Muhammad Al-Azraq, in the presence of the Director General of the Health Sector, Dr. Ali Adam.

The Minister discussed with the Governor of the State the challenges and problems facing the health system and institutions in the State and the diseases associated with the autumn season, especially after the outbreak of cholera cases in the Wad Al-Helio region and cases of acute aqueous diseases and the need for joint coordination, in addition to ensuring the availability of medicines and medical consumables, stressing that the Ministry is aware of the shortages and problems facing medical aids and devices and active health personnel.

The Minister listened to the Governor's comprehensive explanations on the level of services provided in the therapeutic and diagnostic field, in addition to the possibility of extending the provision of services to the largest sector of the regions at the local level, especially rural areas, and working to localize quality services in the state, striving to provide health services to arrivals from the affected states. During the war, he emphasized the provision of services to the wounded of the Karama battle.

The minister praised the efforts made by the state and the ministry to modernize the health sector, stating the ministry's commitment to providing the necessary aid and support to stabilize health conditions.

Haitham revealed that a conference for the development of health services in the eastern sector was held in early September with the participation of the states of Kassala, Red Sea and Gedaref, in addition to organizations and businessmen, stressing the importance of the societal role of contributing to supporting health projects.

For his part, the Governor, Major General Maash Al-Sadiq Muhammad Azraq, stressed the importance of visiting and observing health conditions on the ground, indicating that the state is in dire need of concerted efforts and provision of services, and stressed their commitment to working to stabilize health conditions in the state, calling on the Federal Ministry of Health for more support and especially for the state to host a large number of expatriates.

The governor highlighted the work to continue providing medical services in health institutions in the state, providing work aids, and thanked the federal government for its repeated visits to the state and field observation of health conditions, emphasizing its important and effective role, especially during these visits. the circumstances that the country is going through, highlighting the joint work for the health of the citizen and the work to control diseases associated with the fall, especially cases of cholera and acute watery diarrhea.
