Northern Governor directs distribution of shelter materials to all affected people equally between residents and expatriates

The Northern State Governor, Mr. Abdeen Awadallah, has directed the Merowe Local Government to distribute tents and food supplies to affected residents and affected expatriates on both sides equally, and that restrictions should be at the family level and not at the house level so that no one is exposed to injustice.

This came during the inauguration of a convoy to support those affected by floods and rains in the locality of Marawi, in the presence of the leader of the National Popular Resistance, General Bashir Makki, the deputy leader of the popular resistance, Dr. Abdul Rahman Faqiri, and the leader of the popular resistance in the locality of Al-Dabba.

The Governor of the North praised all those who support this humanitarian work, which confirms the interconnectivity and cohesion between the different components of society.

He confirmed his support and assistance to the people of Tangasi and all affected people across the state.

Thanking all those who contributed, starting with the Consul of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Ambassador Ahmed Fawz Sharif, Qatar Charity, the State Zakat Office and the locality of Al-Dabba, who provided their support in two stages, he also thanked the Ministry of Health, the participating organizations, the Red Crescent, the Jadwa Charity Organization and all the organizations that provided their support.

He praised the media tribe for covering and nullifying all activities carried out by the state.

He promised the youth and farmers the value added program which will take place in the coming days

For his part, His Excellency Major General Bashir Makki Al-Bahi spoke, appreciating the role of the society in the state.

He also spoke about the importance of social cohesion and family solidarity.

In turn, His Excellency Major General Muhammad Al-Amin, Director of the Northern State Police and Supervisor of the Committee, spoke.

In the same vein, the executive director of the locality of Al-Dabba said that this convoy is considered to integrate all sectors of the locality, with its three units and female leaders, in addition to official and popular institutions.

He explained that the convoy contains six “big bulldozer” vehicles loaded with food and relief supplies that were delivered to Marawi leaders and its government, promising to work towards implementing many initiatives aimed at alleviating the suffering of the affected people.

Declaring that this convoy is part of a shared responsibility as well as by virtue of the proximity and shared historical depth

It is considered to be the first caravan to include all sectors of the Dabba community, and it was preceded by many caravans.

For his part, he revealed

The Executive Director of Merowe Locality, Mr. Mahjoub Mohamed Sayed Ahmed, said that more than two hundred and fifty families have been affected by Tangasi.

Thanking all those who took the initiative to provide assistance from the Red Crescent, the Zakat Office, the Ministries of Finance and Health and all organizations, highlighting its impact in alleviating the suffering of citizens.
