The acting Governor of Kassala, Major General Rukn Ma'ash Al-Sadiq Muhammad Al-Azraq, confirmed that his state is facing exceptional circumstances and challenges that limit its capabilities, noting that the state hosts more than 100,000 displaced families from states and regions affected by the crisis. war. During his visit to the localities of Aruma and the North Delta countryside, he called on the governor to determine the impact of the flooding of the Al-Gash River on the villages of the two localities. He called on the Federal Humanitarian Aid Commission and the Federal Supreme Emergency Committee for the need for urgent and direct intervention and support for those affected by the flooding of Al-Gash in a number of villages in the inaccessible Al-Gash localities, including local authorities. The governor said there are over 36 villages in the Delta North locality that are completely cut off and some citizens are carrying their luggage on their shoulders from the water-flooded areas to reach the national highway, leaving their flooded forces behind. He added that the State Humanitarian Relief Commission has provided what it can and has extended tremendous support and efforts. However, the demands are beyond the capacity of the state emergency committee. He added that the shelters have become floating houses, prompting the state government to evacuate some of the displaced persons to new shelters. The governor appealed to national organizations, United Nations organizations and humanitarian workers to provide assistance to the affected localities, especially hospitals, due to the dire need for emergency medicines. In this regard, the governor ordered the Ministry of Health to set up a mobile clinic to reach citizens residing on the national road, adding that the pressure on the state is greater than its capabilities and those of the Commission. It is worth noting that the visit of the governor, accompanied by the Secretary General of the Government, the Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and the Director of Civil Defense, to the rural localities of Aroma and North Delta, during which he reviewed the impact of the Gash flood attack on the villages of the two localities, in addition to reviewing the major engineering works that took place in the city of Aroma and the efforts made by the local authorities and the support of the project owner who contributed to the drainage of water from the interior of the city. city of Aroma to the west of the city and the construction of bridges to protect the city from the eastern direction, which was seriously damaged due to the large and continuous flows of gaseous water.
