After historic visit to China – President of Sovereignty Council returns to the country

The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, returned to the country today after attending the summit of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum, held in China's capital, Beijing, from September 4 to 6 this year.

He was received at Port Sudan International Airport by Lieutenant General Marine Engineering Advisor Ibrahim Jaber, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Othman Hussein, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Acting Prime Minister-designate, and Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Ghali Ali Youssef, Secretary-General of the Sovereignty Council.

During the visit, which was described as successful and historic and achieved its objectives, the President of the Sovereignty Council held several bilateral meetings with a number of presidents and heads of delegations participating in the work of the forum to improve the prospects for joint cooperation. cooperation between Sudan and these countries and the need to strengthen it in all areas. The meetings also discussed the overall developments in the situation in Sudan and issues of common interest.

In addition, the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council and Chinese President Xi Jinping held a bilateral meeting during which they discussed aspects of joint cooperation between the two countries in all political, economic, service, development and military fields, ways to strengthen it and developments in the military situation in Sudan. It also touched upon many issues and files of common interest.

The Chairman of the Sovereignty Council also honored the signing ceremony of a number of strategic and joint cooperation agreements between Sudan and China, which included the fields of economy and development, energy and strategic cooperation in vital military and defense fields, the establishment of airports and ports, the automobile industry, the development of the oil industry and extraction, and the development of the electricity generation sector.

The Council President delivered Sudan's speech at the forum's activities, praising China's role in promoting and developing relations with African countries.

During the visit, the President of the Sovereignty Council was accompanied by the Ministers of Finance, Economic Planning, Foreign Affairs, Energy and Oil.
