Federal Ministry of Health receives laboratory reagents and blood transfusion consumables from Qatar Red Crescent

The Federal Ministry of Health received from the stores of the General Administration of Medical Supplies in Port Sudan laboratory reagents and blood transfusion consumables in sufficient quantity for the country for a period of 3 months, provided by the Qatari Red Crescent, in the presence of the Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohammed Ibrahim and the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Sudan, Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Sada.

In statements to the press following the reception, the Federal Minister of Health welcomed Qatar's continued support for Sudan.

The minister said that the Qatar Red Crescent, through its health projects, provides quality health services, stressing the importance of this type of supply related to blood transfusion services, especially at this time to meet the growing demand for blood transfusion for patients with operations and epidemics, noting that they received refrigerated solutions and basic tests that verify the safety of blood transfusion.

For his part, the head of the Qatar Red Crescent office in Sudan, Dr. Salah Al-Daak said that the quantities of laboratory reagents delivered to the Ministry of Health are sufficient for fifty thousand beneficiaries, stressing that they were provided by the countries of Egypt and India through a joint committee between the Federal Ministry of Health and the Red Crescent Ministry. He added that the committee has developed a list of all the needs of the blood banks of the states in order to cover their needs.
