Minister of Health: We seek to develop the medical sector, treat patients and train scholarship doctors within the framework of the joint protocol between the two countries

Federal Minister of Health Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim met this afternoon with the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Sudan Hani Salah at his quarantine office in Port Sudan, in the presence of a number of senior officials of the ministry. discussed joint bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the health sector.

The Minister praised the eternal and well-established bilateral relations between the two brotherly peoples and praised the firm stance taken by the Egyptian government, represented by the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population, in providing health services to Sudanese citizens in Egypt through the protocol. , affirming that we seek to expand the sector of medicine and treatment within the framework of the joint protocol. His Excellency also thanked the Egyptian Ambassador to Sudan for the facilities he provided, as well as the medical and humanitarian support that is expected to arrive in Ghana via the Abu Simbel 2 ship.

The minister called on Sudan to benefit at present from the expertise and techniques of the advanced Egyptian pharmaceutical industries and the training of executives. He announced the ministry's policy to achieve pharmaceutical abundance through the Egyptian market, in addition to coordinating joint and coordination work. contribute to overcoming obstacles for the private sector working in the pharmaceutical industry and solving the problem of shortage in the near future.

The minister stressed the importance of completing the procedures for medical personnel to obtain the Egyptian scholarship, revealing that 383 doctors applied for the Egyptian scholarship, of which 108 obtained security approval and are awaiting training licenses, and 275 were accepted into the program and are awaiting security approval, calling for facilitating the procedures and maintaining This is a long-term relationship in the field of training between the two countries.

For his part, Egyptian Ambassador to Sudan Hani Salama called on the Federal Ministry of Health to provide all the health aid it needs, and pledged to make Egyptian pharmaceutical expertise available and support the continued provision of health services.

The Egyptian ambassador pledged to work to facilitate procedures for Sudanese medical personnel, as well as visas for patients who need to travel to seek treatment in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
