Northern Health Director: MSF provides support to fight cholera and defeat malaria

Today, a meeting was held at the Federal Ministry of Health in the quarantine in Port Sudan, which was attended by the Director General of the Ministry of Health in the Northern State, Dr. Sati Hassan Sati, and the Director of the General Department of International Health at the Federal Ministry of Health, Dr. Alaa Al-Tayeb Muddathir, with the MSF organization, discussed supporting the health situation in the Northern State, organizing crises through the work of an office in the Northern State, and supporting the ministry with aid to deal with cholera, in addition to supporting with five thousand mosquito nets to fight malaria, and in cooperation during the next three months through an expanded plan for the new year.

And Dr. Satti said, in statements to the press after the meeting, said that the epidemiological situation in the northern state is reassuring, as there are three isolation centers in Dongola hospital, Al-Dabba hospital and a center in Al-Dim region, stressing that the cases infected with cholera have not exceeded 70 cases in the northern state, which indicates that there is containment, but there is an urgent need for health education operations and epidemic control.
