Vice-President of the Sovereignty Council orders the National Health Insurance Fund to expand the framework of partnerships

The Vice President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Mr. Malik Aqar Air, ordered the general administration of the National Health Insurance Fund to carry out all steps related to increasing resources, activating more partnerships and coordinating with international and civil society organizations in the interest of providing services to policyholders and expatriates in all states of the country.

This came during his meeting today in his office with the Director General of the National Health Insurance Fund, Dr. Farouk Nour Al-Daim Omar.

He also briefed His Excellency on the performance of the National Health Insurance Fund in recent months, including the following aspects of governance, management and structural reform, in addition to the experience of the Khartoum State Health Insurance Authority which joined the National Fund.

The meeting discussed the health insurance financing reform project, addressing the weaknesses and challenges that insurance has faced in financing since its inception. The meeting discussed a proposal to shift health insurance financing from subscriptions to taxes on products that have a negative impact.

For his part, the Director General of the National Health Insurance Fund, Dr. Farouk Nour Al-Daim, indicated that he enlightened the Vice President on the tripartite strategy of health insurance 2025-2027, in which all its stages concern determining the current state of health insurance has been completed, in addition to the 10 lines of work represented in the reconstruction and development of health insurance during the war and post-war, in addition to the situation of health services provided to the insured and the situation of the insured. restore health services in all states.
