President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council meets with the President of the Board of Directors of the African Development Bank

The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, met today in New York with Mr. Oki Oramah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the African Development Bank, on the sidelines of the work of the United Nations General Assembly held in New York.

The meeting discussed aspects of joint cooperation between Sudan and the Bank in the coming period.

The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council praised the achievements made by the Bank in Africa, stressing Sudan's willingness to overcome all obstacles and challenges facing the Bank to return and work in Sudan in the next stage, expressing appreciation for the Bank's willingness to return and work in Sudan.

For his part, Mr. Okey Oramah affirmed the bank's readiness to return and work with the Sudanese government, and said: “There are agreements with the relevant authorities in this regard,” announcing specific development projects in Sudan, stressing the importance of Sudan and its pioneering role on the African continent.

Mr. Oramah referred to the bank's investments in Sudan, which he described as successful, and said: “We want to develop, advance and strengthen this partnership to achieve the desired joint cooperation.”

On the Sudanese side, the meeting was attended by Ambassador Muhammad Abdullah Idris, Sudan's ambassador to Washington, and Ambassador Al-Harith Idris, Sudan's permanent representative to the United Nations in New York.
