The Executive Director of Shendi locality, Mr. Khaled Abdul Ghaffar Al-Sheikh, inaugurated the livestock distribution project aimed at improving nutrition and rebuilding the livelihoods of vulnerable groups of herders and farmers, with funding from the Swiss agency, the Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF). ).

Through the United Nations Agriculture and Agriculture Organization, in the presence of the representative of the Minister of Livestock of the River Nile State and the Director of the General Administration of Livestock of the locality of Shendi, the executive director declared that the project constitutes a real addition to the locality, which contributes to improving the economic situation of families and encouraging them to produce and be productive. Khaled added that his locality supports economic projects that support the economy. Furthermore, Dr. Wissal Abdel Majid, director of the General Administration of Animal Health and Epidemic Control, confirmed that the project targets 180 families in the locality of Shendi to integrate poor families into the production circle. and improve the income level of these families. the need to produce and benefit from the vast pastures enjoyed by the locality of Shendi, and underlined the importance of monitoring veterinary services to preserve animal health.

For her part, the director of the Livestock Department of Shindi locality, Dr. Marwa Hassan, discussed the stages of the vaccine and goat supply project, and confirmed that the goat ownership project targets the segments vulnerable and widows, with 5 sheep per family.
