Sudan Coalition for Education for All: Holds training workshops on birth registration for civil registry employees in the Red Sea State

The Sudan Coalition for Education for All, in partnership with UNICEF and the General Administration of Civil Registration of Red Sea State, organized a training workshop on birth registration between October and December for state civil status employees.

Police Brigadier General Abla Dafallah, Director of Civil Registrar of the Red Sea State, said today during the opening of the workshop at the police station that all birth certificates of the State recorded by the census services and health centers had been seized. in the computer, calling on citizens to expedite birth registration and enroll all children in the registration program, and she added that birth registration is a right guaranteed by Sudanese law and the Law on childhood of 2910 AD. Every child born in the country, whether Sudanese or foreign, has the right to obtain a birth certificate. She went on to highlight the importance of registration in ensuring children's rights to education, health and other rights.

Abla stressed that the birth registration project is a partnership between Civil Registrar, UNICEF and the Sudan Education Coalition, as the project targets in the first phase the localities of Port Sudan, Suakin and Sinkat .

He aims to educate society on the importance of birth registration and its requirements, noting that the project was prepared by the Sudan Coalition for Education for All, UNICEF, and implemented by the Administration general civil status.

For her part, the head of the Sudan Coalition for Education for All, Jamila Omar Zayed Gokli, stressed the importance of birth registration to preserve the rights of the child, noting that Sudan is committed to all international agreements related to children's rights.

Jamila called on mothers and fathers to quickly register their children, emphasizing the important role of the media in raising awareness.
