A Supreme Court ruling allowing the General Union of Sudanese Women to engage in community activities

Northern Governor Abdeen Awadallah met in his office with a delegation of the General Union of Sudanese Women as part of women's efforts to complete fronts and community and grassroots organizations.

Basmat Sharif, head of the General Union of Sudanese Women in the northern state, said:

The Women's Union was one of the institutions targeted during the December Revolution and then reestablished by decision of the Supreme Court.

Basmat indicated that the Union is implementing some projects for good purposes, agricultural projects and our strength from our homes to restore the prestige of economically active women through self-sufficiency and various agricultural, animal and of production. She indicated that many courses are planned in the field of human resources development and national education. She highlighted the Union's interest in the health of women, mothers and children, and extended her congratulations to all Sudanese women on the occasion of Pink October.

She stressed the need for societal harmony to ensure that it is women who lay the foundations of the house and its architecture.
