Shendi: More than 200,000 acres, the target area for this year's winter season

In the locality of Shendi, intensive preparations have begun for the start of the winter agricultural season on an estimated area of ​​202 thousand acres, of which 15 thousand eight hundred acres are devoted to wheat and the rest of the areas are reserved for other crops: onions. , beans, potatoes, beans, fodder and other vegetables.

Executive Director of Shindi locality Khaled Abdel Ghaffar Al-Sheikh, who chaired the meeting of the winter season chamber, said that preparations must be precise and comprehensive, with close monitoring of the winter season in all areas. the stages from planting to harvest.

Executive director Khaled Abdel Ghaffar confirmed the locality's desire to resolve all problems related to the winter season, particularly in terms of irrigation and energy.

The Executive Director highlighted the importance of the wheat harvest during this campaign, which he described as exceptional, particularly in government agricultural projects and agricultural investment projects, which can benefit from preferential advantages, particularly in the areas of energy and irrigation.

He stressed the importance of looking for alternatives to the issue of fuel, which has become expensive, and to the trend towards electricity and solar energy, which constitute the best option among all the alternatives presented.

Furthermore, Engineer Muhammad Musa Al-Khader, Director of the Agriculture Department of Shendi locality, said that preparations for the winter season have come a long way and workers in his department are gaining cumulative experience every season. that there are great opportunities to succeed this season in terms of preparation and in terms of productivity, God willing.

It is expected that representatives from electricity, irrigation, Agricultural Bank and agricultural investment projects will participate in the Seasons Chamber meeting next winter.

The winter season hall meeting was attended by the directors of the Musikatab and Kabushi projects, the agricultural inspectors of the North and South Shendi units, the director of Extension and Plant Protection and the director of the Transfer Fund of technology.
