The President of the Sovereignty Council meets the Executive Director of the World Food Program

Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, met today with Ms. Cindy McCain, Executive Director of the World Food Program, in the presence of Acting Undersecretary from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin.

The Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release that the President of the Council renewed during the meeting the concern and full commitment of the government to provide all facilities to the World Food Program and its support to all proposed program projects. , including establishing a logistics base in Al-Dabbah, in the northern state, to provide humanitarian assistance to people in need through various airports in Sudan, noting that Ms. McCain welcomed this initiative, indicating that its implementation will be examined by various competent authorities.

His Excellency added that Ms. Cindy McCain's visit to the country discussed the projects of the World Food Program and the problems faced by humanitarian work and the distribution of food to the needy in Sudan.

Stating that he held meetings with a member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Deputy Commander-in-Chief, Lieutenant General, Maritime Engineering Advisor *Ibrahim Jaber* and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who discussed ways to joint coordination to support humanitarian work.

The Undersecretary noted the Sudanese government's assurances and full cooperation with the World Food Program, as it is the largest international organization working in Sudan, stressing that the partnership with the program spans several decades.

Her Excellency said that the Executive Director of the World Food Program confirmed her keenness to provide humanitarian aid and support to Sudan and her interest in the developing situation there.
