Dr. Othman Al-Badawi: the writer of writers and the poet of poets ✍️ Dr. Abdul Karim Al-Hashemi

I am not talking about the genius of the word, the understanding intellectual, the seasoned playwright, the great poet, the brilliant writer, the brilliant journalist and the enlightened university professor, Dr. Othman Al-Badawi. It is a sea in which. I'm not good at swimming, and a knowledge space whose sides are difficult to understand. These are just impressions that I wanted to record in recognition of Dr. Othman Al-Badawi's gratitude to me and to many of my friends. When I was young, I listened to my brothers and their friends talk about a talented teacher who was obsessed with literature and the arts. They learned the written, audio and manuscript arts from him. They spoke about creativity in depth. pleasure, of a culture that flowed and filled the sides of their cultural gatherings and enriched their primary schools, and of an elegance that the senses danced to see, it calms the moods with its splendor. At their meetings, they were amazed by his literary delivery, the eloquence of his language, the sweetness of his speech and the flow of his poetry, until when he spoke, everyone fell silent, as if birds were on his head, because of the sweetness of his speech and the splendor of his speech. My imagination stored much of what I heard from this provocative and inciting person, to seek that person's vision and cling to the rope of hope in an intimate encounter that would be a struggle, and that may seem at the time far-fetched and difficult to achieve. This is how the features of the first image of the writer Dr. Othman Al-Badawi were formed in my mind, and at that time beautiful things still retained their brilliance, their intimacy, their meaning, their splendor and their beauty, which makes obtaining or accessing it requires great effort, and not as is the case today where one can obtain literary products written, audio and seen by anyone, by moving on the telephone keypad, we can thus generate a mountain of curiosity and a mountain of pleasure. I hope to see a person, see his literary products, or exchange photos and warm feeling between you. The vision aspirations and obsessions of meeting the writer Dr. Othman Al-Badawi have captivated us for a long time, and our eagerness to meet increases every time his name is mentioned on the radio as the composer of a song. , or the presenter of a program, or an actor in a play. The star of our creator, Dr. Othman, shone in the seventies and eighties of the century, because he was one of the rare intellectuals celebrated by literature. advice, and sought after by admirers. Meeting and seeing Dr. Othman Al-Badawi remained one of the impossible hopes and imaginary expectations, so how could someone like me meet someone with complete hearing and sight, until the guidance from Gedaref University reunite me with him, this wonderful neighborhood, which included, in its early years, an elite group of nobles and a group of similar people, connecting them together? The bonds of intimate brotherhood, the bonds of friendly loyalty and warm serenity, its area expands and never shrinks, and the warm atmosphere and loving expanse of the new members of the university gather in its warm expanse , like delicate butterflies whose wings fail to fly among these young ones. Despite this, joy has filled our wings, and astonishment clings to the heart of our feelings and ours. feelings. We are gradually getting closer to the writer of writers and the poet of poets, enveloped in an aura of prestige and beauty, splendor and dignity, patience and calm, contemplation and insight. When he spoke, everyone relaxed their minds. circles of his ears, listening to the wonderful and pleasant style of speech, and when he stood up, his relatives and devotees circled around him, so that they could gain a share of… His literary potential is even the weight of 'an atom, and for him the weight is enormous, and for him the atom is solid.

He doesn't get bored with his speech. He is tactful and soft-spoken, in Arabic and English. He is present with jokes and jokes. The beautiful and kind soul is like the one who satisfies you despite the need. After meeting and getting closer, many imaginary lines disappeared and many purple lines were drawn between me and him, carrying respect, appreciation, affection and love. I always looked forward to meeting Brother Dr. Othman in his office and home, which witnessed many circles of culture and enlightenment, in various types of knowledge, and our language was sweet. On the sand we sat and talked, and. we talked about types of knowledge. We were impressed during our sessions by the magnanimous magnanimity and generous generosity of Al-Hatami Al-Fayyad, as aloes are a kind of firewood in his country. sit with him at formal and informal academic meetings, and anyone who sits with academics is knowledgeable, and anyone who sits with writers is brilliant and intelligent. I have a relationship with my brother, Dr. Othman Al-Badawi, that goes beyond the intimate. That's what I feel, and maybe I'm exaggerating if I call it friendship, but that's also what I feel, and maybe it's natural. and the correct setting is a relationship between a sheikh with his followers or a guide with his followers. I worked alongside him on many university committees and learned a lot from him. Brother Othman had a good opinion of me (he said: “The dome has me in it”), so he often chose me to supervise certain artistic works, or manage certain cultural programs, and I was happy with that, and I was happy when he chose me to present an elite group of poets, writers and singers in one of the forums of Gedaref University, the late great poet Muhammad Taha Al-Qaddal, the general writer Al-Sir Ahmed Omar and musician Dr. . Othman Mustafa and musician Dr. Al-Mahi Suleiman. At that time, I was overcome by a feeling between desire and fear. As for the source of the desire to achieve this honor, the fear came from my fear of my teacher's failure, Dr. Othman's bet. my person. I was also honored by a call from Al-Shorouk channel, which was about to present an interactive program with the audience of the Gedaref Theater. The person identified by the channel was Dr. Othman Al-Badawi. his illness, may God heal him and grant him well-being, and I referred them to myself and to the person of the brother, Professor Abdel Majid Mohamed Al-Sayed. So I first apologized to the channel representative and offered to help him achieve it. my brother, Professor Abdel Majid. However, the channel representative mentioned to me a conversation that shook my conscience and disturbed the foundations of my being, when he told me that Dr. Othman Al-Badawi said that he trusted two people who could take his place in this mission, and you are one of them, so my fear and agitation have increased, and my desire to excuse myself or escape has increased less. He called me every time he landed in Khartoum, and I took care to meet him and accompany him throughout his stay in Khartoum. Thanks to this support, I met a large number of stars and personalities in the field of art, music, singing, theater, writers and many intellectuals were Dr. Othman form the invitation patches with which we enter cultural forums. As soon as we mention Al-Gadarif, then Dr. Othman Al-Badawi is mentioned, all doors open for us, the doors of houses and the doors of vaults. We are greatly celebrated, and they tell us about Dr. Othman in the words of those who know, with gratitude and deep knowledge. It’s like they’re talking about someone other than the one we’re sitting with. So we are sure of it. that we are still in the first chapter of the book of Dr. Othman's literary and cultural life, and this will remain the bitter truth.

The horses and the night and the desert you know, the sword and the spear

And paper and pen.

I accompanied Dr. Othman one year during God's long years in the Holy Land, to perform the ritual of Umrah during the blessed month of Ramadan. He spent most of his time in worship and celibacy, and we waited until evening. meal, so we would gather around him to tell about the funny situations that happened during the day, and the food would increase. We left Mecca for the city of guidance and descended the mounts of our peace-thirsty souls upon the Beloved Chosen One and to bask in the space of the Prophet's Mosque. A scene that still sticks in my mind. During one of the visits to our Sheikh Othman Al-Azraq, who memorized it, and whose visit to the city coincided with his presence, we went to visit him and while we were there. his care, read Dr. Othman told us part of the poem of Muhammad al-Mahdi al-Majzoub in praise of the Beloved Chosen. He cried during the reading and made those present cry and could not finish the poem.

We were hurt and even shocked by the injury of Brother Dr. Othman Al-Badawi was terminally ill, which prevented us from sitting with him and being sociable. Despite the severity of the pain of the illness, his door remained open to his loved ones, instead he continued to dedicate himself to being their companions, answering their questions and contributing to their consultations. Dr. Othman Al-Badawi will remain an imposing symbol in us, like the top of a palm tree. He has not been and will not be affected by illness, nor will he be broken by the power of suffering. will strengthen itself, so that its donations, its activities and its scientific, literary and humanitarian flow, as evidenced by its Facebook page, continue.

He is not grateful to many

He who thanks the created being thanks his Lord
