Humanitarian aid mandate: Sudan rejects humanitarian aid as cover to support rebellion with weapons
Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid, Dr Salwa Adam, announced that Sudan rejects any politicization of humanitarian aid or its link with the political positions of donor countries.
Federal Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid, Dr. Salwa Adam, said while addressing the humanitarian support convoy that the Humanitarian Aid Commission was leading under the leadership of the Transitional Sovereignty Council to support the displaced people of east of Al-Jazeera and villages of Butana arrived in Shendi locality and Nile state, she declared that any aid is a cover to support the rebellion and the militias with weapons and equipment military. It is rejected and the Sudanese government does not deal with it in the first place.
She indicated that the Humanitarian Aid Commission is keen to provide aid and assistance to all people in Sudan affected by war or natural and other disasters, and that this is the duty and role of the Commission.
The Federal Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid thanked the Nile government, Shendi locality and the popular leaders at the national and local levels who served their people in the eastern part of the island and Butana villages by providing them with shelter, food and medicine.
A federal delegation arrived in Shendi town, led by the Minister of Justice, Maulana Muawiya Muhammad Khair, the Minister of Transport, Abu Bakr Abu Al-Qasim, and the Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid, Dr. Salwa Adam, accompanied of a huge convoy. composed of six large trucks loaded with various humanitarian aid for the populations of the east of the island displaced and relocated by the Rapid Support Militia.
